Salvation

Here is a simple prayer if you have not yet given your life to Jesus and invited him into yours:

Jesus, I believe you are the Son of God, that you died on the Cross to rescue me from sin and death and to restore me to the Father. I choose now to turn from my sins and  living a life of serving myself  and with your help every part of my life that does not please you. I chose you. I receive your forgiveness and ask you to take your rightful place in my life as my Savior and Lord. Come reign in my heart, fill me with your love and your life, and help me to become the person you created me to be. Restore me, Jesus. Live In me. Love through me. Thank you, God. In, Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

You do not need to "try" to live a Christian life, if you prayed the above prayer in sincerity the Holy Spirit will change your heart and the desires of it. Over time you will notice it and be amazed.  Most importantly is that you do your part to get to know Him better by reading the bible.  He will reveal Himself to you as you read. Start with the gospel of John and Ephesians and Galatians.

Below are a few scriptures from the Bible about salvation. God created us to have relationship with Him but sin has separated us from Him. The most important relationship for every one of us is our relationship with Jesus Christ. Choosing to believe that he is who he claims to be and receiving Him by faith as your Lord and Savior is the most important decision you will ever make.  We want life, He is Life. We need cleansing. He is the Living Water. We are saved by faith, not works. The blood of Jesus is the only sacrifice that can take away our sin as well as freeing us from the guilt of it so that we can serve Him.

John3:16-17 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

John 3:36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.”

John 17:3 This is eternal life, that they may know you, the one true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.

Romans 3:20-28 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin. But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus….. 28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law.

Romans 4:5-8 Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.

Romans 10:9-10 The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is the word of faith which we preach): that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:13 Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Galatians 4:24-26 24 So the law was put in charge to lead us to Christ that we might be justified by faith. Now that faith has come, we are no longer under the supervision of the law. You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.

Ephesians: 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God not by works, so that no one can boast.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1 John 5:1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well.

1 John 5:11 And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.
